A VISITOR’S PROSPECTIVE – written by a visitor!
Don Bosco and Bosco Pineta Camper Areas are the only camp sites in the surrounding area of Venice that are open all year round. The owner, Renato, is a charming and friendly person and is also very accommodating to ensure your stay is enjoyable.
Groups are warmly welcomed and there are 2 marquees available for a gathering together with barbeque facilities.
The two sites are just a couple of hundred metres apart and are in a quiet location just a couple of hundred metres from the beach.
There is a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars and supermarkets etc within a few hundred metres, the closest being just two or three minutes walk.
Each site has a small basic toilet block which incorporates toilets, hot showers (charge of 1 Euro), washing sinks, laundry sinks and washing machine (charge of 5 Euros per machine wash).
The majority of pitches have electric (.5kw or 1.5kw) and many have their own fresh water/waste water points with plenty of trees for shade. There are chemical/waste water disposal points at both sites.
Both camper areas are capable of accepting large r.v.’s/5th wheelers and we recommend you pre-book if you have a very large vehicle. Bosco Pineta is laid out as avenues whilst Don Bosco is more open plan.
Getting out and about from the camper areas is easy. There is a regular bus directly outside the campsites which will take you to the heart of Jesolo in a few minutes (1 Euro each way). Lido di Jesolo’s beaches and quality tree lined shopping areas are endless and actually stretch for many kilometres. To the east of the resort is the small fishing village of Cortellazzo while to the west is Cavallino.
The entire region is flat and there is over 150 kilometres of cycle routes which make it a great and safe place for cyclists. The most amazing thing about Lido di Jesolo is that during the ‘season’, go to the tourist office, show i.d. and collect a key for your very own bicycle FREE OF CHARGE! O.K. so there’s no gears on it, but perfect for exploring this attractive resort (well except for negotiating the tree roots)!
Access to Venice is quite easy. You can take a bus to the centre and connect with another bus direct to Piazzale Roma (currently 9 Euros return) or alternatively from the centre, take a bus to Punta Sabbioni and catch the boat to San Marco, the very heart of Venice (currently 18 Euros return).
Don Bosco and Bosco Pineta Camper Areas are well priced and also have excellent offers throughout the year (excl August). If you are looking for a longer stay, Renato will tempt you with a very attractive rate, just email him at firstname.lastname@example.org
